site.btaCabinet Approves Over EUR 10 Mln for ID Documents, Road Safety in Early 2026

At its regular meeting on Wednesday, the Council of Ministers adopted a decision approving funding for the Interior Ministry for 2026. The amount of EUR 954,840 is earmarked to cover activities related to the issuance of Bulgarian identity documents, in line with the ministry’s contractual obligations for the period January-March 2026.

Under a separate decision, the government approved EUR 5,647,816 for the supply of blank forms for Bulgarian identity documents of the 2019 generation. The funding will support the operation of the Centralized Personalization System for Bulgarian Identity Documents in January and February 2026.

The Cabinet also approved EUR 3,666,156 to finance activities of the Road Safety Fund for the months of January, February and March 2026.
