A political figure should not serve as caretaker prime minister because there must be a sense of impartiality, National Assembly Chair Raya Nazaryan said on Tuesday following a meeting with President Iliana Iotova, held as part of the talks on forming a caretaker government. Nazaryan added that no matter how well prepared the Chair of the National Assembly may be, this would not be fair and would raise suspicions of interference in the electoral process.

The Chair of the 51st National Assembly, Raya Nazaryan, conferred with President Iliana Iotova as part of the constitutional procedure for appointing a caretaker government. The meeting between the two was held behind closed doors.
