Traffic was heavy Tuesday morning at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint on the border with Turkiye for incoming cars and at the Kalotina checkpoint on the border with Serbia for outgoing cars, the Border Police said, citing data as of 6:00 a.m.

The ferry service at the Oryahovo–Bechet crossing remains suspended after being halted on August 22 due to low water levels on the Danube. Because of major repairs on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse, temporary traffic arrangements are in place, with vehicles passing in a single lane with traffic managed by the contractor’s staff. Traffic is normal at the other crossings.

Traffic has been restored in both directions at the Stanke Lisichkovo checkpoint on the border with North Macedonia.

The Border Police also recalled that roadworks continue on the Greek side of the Rudozem–Xanthi route. Signs have been put up indicating the area is a construction site and access is prohibited. In addition, the road from Zlatograd to Xanthi will remain closed on Greek territory for all vehicles until September 13, 2025, due to repair works. During this period, travelers are advised to use the Makaza crossing.
