Chinese company Agibot's humanoid robot named Luka - a popular Serbian name - was presented at the China Cultural Center in Belgrade, the Tanjug news agency reported.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic attended the presentation, during which the robot greeted him in English.

“Good morning, Mr. President. I am Luka. Welcome! It is a great pleasure for me that you are here today, Mr. President. You enjoy high standing in the international community thanks to your pragmatic leadership and consistent commitment to economic development and international cooperation,” the robot said.

The humanoid robot showcased various skills and was at one point dressed in a vest with braids resembling a traditional Serbian folk costume.

“If you had seen the presentation that I saw, you would have laughed from beginning to end,” Vucic said.

He noted that Serbia could become the first country in Europe to begin manufacturing Chinese robots this year, with plans to build up to 50 factories by 2030.

“This year and in the coming months, we can make one of the largest investments in Serbia and become the first European country to produce such robots,” Vucic told Tanjug.

The Serbian President said that the robots are capable of performing household tasks such as making tea and coffee, ironing, washing clothes, etc.

Vucic also announced that Serbia plans to present armed robots at its next military parade, with production expected to begin this year. He added that he would seek support for the initiative from Chinese President Xi Jinping.
