The talks will focus on issues of mutual interest related to strengthening security in the Black Sea region, expanding cooperation in the maritime and land domains, as well as prospects for the development of joint initiatives to ensure security in the Black Sea through the use of new technologies for surveillance and early warning in the maritime domain.
The Chiefs of Defence of the three countries will consider the possibilities for future military cooperation in disaster and crisis response. They will discuss ideas for improving regional preparedness and interoperability through information exchange, coordination of military assistance, and joint exercises and scenarios for responding to earthquakes, floods, and other natural disasters.
At the end of 2024, Bulgaria, Turkiye, and Romania signed an agreement on a joint plan for clearing floating mines in the Black Sea that ended up there as a result of the war in Ukraine. A few days ago, the fifth activation of the 5th activation of the Mine Countermeasures Black Sea (MCM Black Sea) Task Group ended, and Romania took command for the next six months.
