A project aimed at improving medical care conditions for pupils has been implemented in lyceums and high schools across Taraclia District in Moldova. Titled "Equipping Medical Offices in Educational Institutions of Taraclia District," the project was carried out under the programme for supporting Bulgarian communities in the country, with financial assistance from the Bulgarian Embassy in Moldova. The initiative was implemented by the Perspectiva association, and the total project value was EUR 7,600, Lilia Sarsaman, head of the Taraclia District Department of Education, has told the Bulgarian News Agency.
As part of the project, school medical offices were equipped with modern medical equipment, including anthropometers, medical cabinets, and examination couches. The equipment was distributed among educational institutions based on their specific needs. The support covered almost all schools and their branches which previously lacked adequately equipped medical offices.
Educational activities were held in schools to promote healthy lifestyles, disease prevention, proper nutrition, and the prevention of harmful habits among pupils.
"The implementation of the project will help improve the quality of medical services in educational institutions, enable faster first aid, and create better working conditions for nurses. We express our sincere gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Perspectiva association for their support and contribution to the health of children in Taraclia District," Sarsaman said.
There are 16 general education schools operating in Taraclia District, attended by more than 3,000 pupils.
