Ali Ahmeti, head of the largest ethnic Albanian party in the Republic of North Macedonia, the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), called January 28 a historic day for the country. In an address on the eve of the vote for the technical government of the country, led by Albanian Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi (who was nominated by the DUI), Ahmeti appealed to all the citizens of North Macedonia, calling on them for unity so that they can build a European North Macedonia.

Ahmeti called the day historic for Albanians, North Macedonians and everyone else, because they are becoming an equal state and society, and overcoming all prejudices. "Together, we take the responsibility to lead the country, not one after the other, but side by side, together, for a European North Macedonia", said Ahmeti in his address, calling on all citizens to put aside what divides them and to reach out to what unites them.

At an extraordinary meeting on January 28, the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia will vote on the technical government, which must organize the spring elections in the country. This will be the country's third technical government and for the first time the prime minister of North Macedonia will be an Albanian.
