North Macedonia's Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani Thursday took part in a ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition against Daesh, held in Riyadh. The meeting was organized by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan.

Osmani said in the Saudi capital, as quoted by his Ministry: "As a member of the Coalition and current OSCE Chair, North Macedonia is committed to fighting terrorism and preventing violent extremism, which are an important part of OSCE's counterterrorist activities. Being a multiethnic and multicultural democracy which fosters a culture of coexistence, North Macedonia has adopted national strategies to combat terrorism and action plans spelling out the measures and the activities undertaken at the national level."

In his address, Osmani underscored the need for comprehensive and coordinated actions to respond to the challenges which still exist in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia, and confirmed that Skopje will continue to address security challenges through close cooperation with its neighbours and the wider international community.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Osmani had talks with Secretary Blinken and State Department Counsellor Derek Chollet as well as the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Belgium and Cyprus, the press release said.
