Nataliya Kiselova was betrayed by everyone, including her own party, said Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov speaking to journalists in Parliament. “What the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) did to her was disgraceful, dishonorable, and shameful — they threw her out like a doormat,” he added. According to him, she left her post with “partially preserved dignity.” “We are replacing one of Peevski’s people with another — Raya Nazaryan,” the Vazrazhdane leader commented.
Nataliya Kiselova (BSP-United Left) stepped down as Chair of the National Assembly. Opening Wednesday's sitting of the legislature, Kiselova said she had submitted a formal application to leave the post.
Later in the day, Raya Nazaryan, nominated by the GERB–UDF Parliamentary Group, was elected Chair of the 51st National Assembly. She received the support of 129 members of Parliament, while 77 voted against and 14 abstained.
On Tuesday, the government coalition of GERB-UDF, BSP-United Left and TISP decided that Nazaryan will replace Kiselova as Chair of the National Assembly. The Joint Governance Council of the three-party coalition decided earlier on Tuesday to introduce rotational chairmanship of parliament. GERB said on Facebook that the rotation will take place every ten months.
