A meeting between the Chiefs of Defence of Bulgaria, Romania, and Turkiye – Admiral Emil Eftimov, General Gheorghita Vlad, General Metin Gurak – will be held here on July 2 at the invitation of Eftimov, the Defence Ministry said in a press release on Tuesday.

The sides are expected to discuss issues of mutual interest, focusing on strengthening security in the Black Sea region and enhancing cooperation in maritime and land domains. The Chiefs of Defence are also expected to explore opportunities for joint initiatives aimed at ensuring security in the Black Sea through the use of advanced surveillance and early warning technologies in the maritime domain.

The Chiefs of Defence of the three countries will examine possibilities for future military cooperation in disaster and crisis response. Topics will include improving regional preparedness and interoperability through information sharing, coordination of military assistance, and the organization of joint exercises and scenario-based trainings for responding to natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods.
