site.btaBulgarian Karatekas Bring Home 3 Bronze Medals from Karate 1-Youth League in Croatia


The Bulgarian competitors at the third Karate 1-Youth League tournament for 2025 won three bronze medals. The tournament in the Croatian city of Porec ended on Sunday.
After winning decisive matches, the bronze medals went to Adriana Boyadzhieva in the junior kumite female -53 kg category, Bojidar Sotirov in the junior kumite male 76+ category and Georgi Markov in the U14 kumite male -50 category.
Elena Kondova in U14 kumite female -52 and Ioan Tanev in cadet kumite male -52, lost the matches for the bronze medal but came out fifth in their categories.
3200 athletes from 724 teams from over 80 countries took part in the tournament. There were 58 Bulgarian athletes at the competition.
The Porec international competition for young karatekas is part of the larger Karate 1 series, which aims to promote and develop young talent in the sport. The event will be followed by tournaments in Monterrey, Mexico, and Venice, Italy.
