Vice Governor of China’s Sichuan Province Dong Weimin will visit Bulgaria from June 30 to July 2, 2025, heading a high-level delegation representing key economic and foreign affairs institutions of the province, Ivet Nikolova, Head of the Bulgarian Trade and Economic Affairs Offices (STIV) in Shanghai under the Ministry of Economy and Industry, said Thursday.
The delegation will include the leadership of the Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Foreign Affairs Office, the Bureau of Economic Cooperation, and the Sichuan Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
The Sichuan delegation will meet representatives of the Bulgarian Ministry of Economy and Industry, focusing on economic and trade cooperation between Bulgaria and China. Opportunities for joint initiatives in the fields of trade and investment will also be explored.
The visit by Vice Governor Dong Weimin and the accompanying delegation represents an important step in advancing economic relations between the two countries, STIV Shanghai noted.
A Bulgaria-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference is scheduled for July 1 as part of the visit. The event is expected to bring together around 80 participants, including representatives of Bulgarian institutions, Chinese institutions from Sichuan Province, the Chinese Embassy in Sofia, as well as Bulgarian and Chinese companies.
