The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) issued a yellow code warning (first degree) for ice and significant rainfall and snowfall in 11 regions for Saturday. An orange code (second degree) has been issued for nine regions, the map with warning codes for dangerous meteorological phenomena, published on the NIMH website on Friday shows.

Over the next 24 hours, the weather in the country will be cloudy, with rain in many places, which, with the drop in temperatures in most of the country, will turn to snow. In the southern and easternmost regions, there will be rain and snow, with ice forming in some places. There will be significant rainfall in Central and Eastern Bulgaria. It will be windy with moderate and temporarily strong winds from the north-northeast, which will create conditions for blizzards and snowdrifts.

Temperatures in most areas will be close to zero, with little change throughout the day. In Southern Bulgaria, morning temperatures will be between 3 C and 7 C but will drop during the day to 0 - 4 C in the early afternoon. In Sofia the temperature will be around zero, according to NIMH.
