An unmanned aerial vehicle washed up on the shore of the southern beach in the Bulgarian resort of Nessebar on Tuesday. The drone was not carrying explosive materials and did not pose a danger, the Defence Ministry said in a press release.
A specialized team from the Bulgarian Navy transported the drone to the Naval Base in Burgas.
The servicemen acted at the request of the Burgas Regional Administration and with the approval of the Chief of Defence. The reconnaissance, marking, recovery, transport and disposal group for unexploded ordnance from the naval base was activated by order of the Deputy Commander of the Navy, the ministry explained.
At the beginning of April, a drone and a drone wing found in the Black Sea were neutralized by Bulgarian Navy servicemen.
