The last book by Maxim Minchev (1953-2020), "On the Roads of Africa", is published nearly four years after his death. The edition includes previously unpublished travelogues from various African countries of the journalist, writer, traveler and long-time head of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).

Writing books was the natural state of Maxim Minchev , PR expert Maxim Behar told BTA on Monday. Minchev has probably walked every square inch of Africa, Behar added. The book tells stories from the author's travels during the last years of his life. Included are travelogues from 15 of his favorite African itineraries - Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Namibia, the Kingdom of Eswatini, Sao Tome and Principe and ending in Sudan.

In Behar's words, "On the Roads of Africa" is a special book not only because it is Maxim Minchev's last. It begins with a long introduction of about 40 pages by Atlantic Club President Solomon Passy, which gives the book not only an African significance, but also makes it historical because it tells stories, achievements and missions of Maxim Minchev over the years - as a traveler, as press director of the Atlantic Club, as director general of BTA for so many years, the PR expert notes.

The publisher of the book is Neyko Genchev ("Faber"), the journalist Georgi Milkov is the editor, and Danail Alexiev is the author of the layout. According to Behar, BTA Director General Kiril Valchev , Solomon Passy, Gergana Passy, Veneta Pisarska, Janet Zaharieva, Martin Zahariev also contributed in the collective work on the book's publication.

Maxim Minchev was a journalist, writer, traveler, erudite and intellectual. He headed the BTA for 17 years, from 2003 to 2020. He described his travels to nearly 140 countries in a number of books, including The Seventh Mine (1982), The Jungles of Sri Lanka (1999), Atlantic Passages (2004), and Mirage Seekers (2015).
