Children from Bulgaria and Italy competed in the fields of music, documentary, fiction and animation in the framework of the Harlequin International Children's and Youth Media Art Festival, held at the Bulgarian Embassy in Rome on March 9 and 10. The festival was created in 2010 by academician Hacho Boyadzhiev, and this year's edition was under the patronage of Bulgaria's Ambassador to Italy Todor Stoyanov, Veneta Nenkova, founder of the Assen and Ilia Peikov School in Rome and Florence, told BTA.

"The performances were judged by Bulgarian and Italian experts at an exceptionally high level," she added.

The co-organiser of the event in the Italian capital was the Assen and Ilia Peikov Bulgarian School in Rome. The directors of the festival are Yuri Dachev and Rositsa Mladenova. The event was attended by children from across Italy, and winners of the Fuoriclasse National Competition and 11 of the 14 participants in the 66th edition of the Zecchino d'Oro Music Competition for Children.
