A two-day vintage car festival kicked off in Ankara’s Millet Bahcesi central part on Saturday with over 600 cars from various districts of Turkiye.

The festival is held in association with the municipality of Altindag and the Ankara Classic Car Club.

The event is visited by a huge number of classic car enthusiasts. People of all ages, including foreign tourists, gather at Millet Bahcesi to see cars featured in various movies such as The Fast and the Furious and John Wick.

One of the exhibits that grabbed the attention of the visitors was a 624-kg red Fiat 126 Bis, which people recognized from the Turkish comedy Recep Ivedik.

The oldest car at the festival is a 1924 Model Lincoln dubbed Old Boy. The 99-year-old vehicle is even older than the 1936 car used by the founder of the Republic of Turkiye, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

Normally stored in a garage, the Lincoln is being displayed for the first time in 35 years at this year's festival in Ankara.
