site.bta13th Piano Extravaganza International Music Festival Opens in Sofia on October 18


The 13th Piano Extravaganza International Music Festival will be held in Sofia from October 18 to November 25, the Czech Centre said on Friday. On the programme are five piano recitals and one chamber concert at the Sofia City Art Gallery and the concert hall of the Prof Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music.
Among the performers are Pavel Kaspar (Czechia), Nicolas Giacomelli (Italy), Vadym Kholodenko (Ukraine), Epifanio Comis (Italy), Massimo Mercelli (Italy) together with Bulgarian pianist Lyudmil Angelov, and Georgi Vasilev (Bulgaria).
Lyudmil Angelov is the festival's artistic director and curator of the its content. The goal is to restore world music heritage by collecting music scores of little-known works and their performance in festival concerts.
Piano Extravaganza won the Music Project of the Year Award in the Bulgarian National Radio's Allegro Vivace 2016 annual awards and UNESCO's acknowledgement of safeguarding world music heritage.
