Two Bulgarian nationals have been detained during an anti-drug trafficking operation in Istanbul. The raid seized 84 kg of skunk (cannabis) and 32 kg of cocaine hidden in an ambulance transporting patients from Bulgaria to Istanbul, Türkiye’s Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said Wednesday on X.

The raid was carried out by the anti-narcotics proliferation department of Istanbul's police.

The police started following the ambulance after it entered Türkiye. The vehicle was stopped for a search in Istanbul, during which the drugs were found.

Meanwhile, another operation in Istanbul’s district of Eyüpsultan seized 44.5 kg of skunk during a property search. Four citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina were detained in the raid, NTV informs.
