Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova met with Albanian President Bajram Begaj on Friday. Iotova conveyed President Rumen Radev's greetings to Begaj. Radev and Iotova wished him success in his endeavours as President - a post he took in 2022.
At the opening of the meeting, the Albanian President stressed that Tirana and Sofia have very good relations.
The meeting was held behind closed doors.
At the end of the meeting, Iotova presented the Albanian President with "Nike", a bronze sculpture by Bulgarian sculptor Bogdan Bondikov, and a copy of Assoc. Prof. Spas Tashev's "The Bulgarians in Albania" in Albanian. The book will be presented at the Albanian Council of Ministers on Friday afternoon.
President Begaj presented the Bulgarian Vice President with a copper sculpture of the Albanian capital Tirana. He expressed satisfaction with their meeting and told Iotova that she could always return to Tirana.
The two did not give more details of the meeting.
