Primorsko will host the start of the 72nd International Cycling Tour of Bulgaria on August 30, the local administration said on Thursday.
A total of 120 professional cyclists from 20 countries and three continents will participate in the cycling tour, where they will compete on a 687-kilometer route.
Following the start on August 30, the first stage will take place the next day finishing in Burgas. The following stages between September 1 and September 4 will end in Kazanlak, Troyan and Sliven, respectively, with the last fifth stage being a circular route with a start and finish in Sliven.
Primorsko Mayor Ivan Gaykov pointed out that the municipality has hosted marathons, beach volleyball tournaments, the annual Primorsko Municipality Football Tournament, a handball championship, underwater fishing, a Kyokushin-kan summer camp and sports festivals.
The event is organized by the Bulgarian Cycling Federation.
