site.btaBulgaria Loses to Cuba in First Match at U21 Men’s Volleyball World Championship
The Bulgarian national U21 men’s volleyball team lost 1-3 (25:16, 17:25, 23:25, 21:25) to Cuba in the first match at the World Championship in Jiangmen, China.
The Bulgarians dominated the first set, but the Cubans took control in the following sets. The third set was the most competitive, but despite a strong effort, Bulgaria couldn’t turn the match around.
Top scorers for Bulgaria were Jasmin Velichkov and Alexander Kandev with 11 points each.
Bulgaria's next match is scheduled for Friday at 6 am (local time) against Japan.
