Bucharest was visited by 28,554 Bulgarians, while 2,751 preferred other tourist places and routes. A total of 5,828 Bulgarians chose mountain resorts, 119 - spa resorts, 265 - seaside resorts and in particular the city of Constanta, 381 - the Danube Delta and the city of Tulcea, according to the data sent to BTA.

A total of 930,600 foreign tourists visited Romania in June. 719,000 were from Europe, 112,000 from Asia, 67,400 from North America.

Bulgaria ranks ninth in the number of tourists to Romania, while Germany, Italy, Israel, the United States, Hungary, Britain, France and Moldova lead the ranking. Cypriots show the least interest in Romania.

The data also shows that the most frequent means of travel for foreign and domestic tourists to Romania is by car (1,029,739) or plane (300,410). Over 33% stay in a hotel, 16.8% in a hostel, 17.5% in a motel, 17.8% in a lodge, 10.2% in a camping site, and 19.4% rent an apartment or room.

Apart from Bucharest and the surrounding area, the Romanian counties that enjoyed the most interest from foreign tourists in June included Brasov (667,670), Constanta (331,638), Cluj (317,426), Sibiu (227,379), Suceava (221,860), Iasi (186,647), Timis (152,467), and Maramures (117,069).
