Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said that the government will invest USD 200 Bln in the energy sector by 2035, Hurriyet reported.

"By 2035 we plan projects worth USD 200. Some will be started and completed within this period and for others the legal framework will be prepared,” said Baytraktar om Monday.

These projects include RES, nuclear energy, natural gas and oil exploration, interconnectors, he added.

Renewable energy is an area which could help meet growing demand, reduce dependency on foreign sources and greenhouse emissions.

“In the area of RES want to introduce wind energy on and off shore. We have ambitious goals in the area of solar energy,” said Bayraktar.
