The Electrocharge charging station network and the Petrol gas station chain have launched a strategic partnership to expand Bulgaria’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. Over the next three years, the partners plan to build more than 200 charging points along key roads, motorways, and major urban locations, Electrohold said.

The first completed site is at a Petrol gas station on Simeonovsko Shose Boulevard in Sofia’s Malinova Dolina neighbourhood, where a 120 kW DC charging station has been installed.

The planned network expansion aims to ensure more even nationwide coverage and to support the development of electromobility through reliable and predictable infrastructure.

Electrohold began developing its Electrocharge EV charging network at the end of 2024. Stations have been installed in 18 cities, including Sofia, Varna, Pleven, Blagoevgrad, Lovech, Vratsa, Montana, and Vidin, and have been equipped with the latest fast-charging technologies.
