A total of 100 health data reports across 11 categories are publicly accessible on the website of the National Health Information System (NHIS), Information Services JSC said here on Monday. The company maintains the information system.

Since December, the information in the “Statistical Data” section of his.bg has been expanded with 29 new data reports in three areas - birth rates, mortality and demographic data from national registers. The reports are presented in the form of graphs, available in Bulgarian and English. The data are updated daily, Information Services noted.

The data reports in the two new categories, “Birth Rates” and “Mortality”, are based on data submitted by medical professionals in the “Hospitalizations” module of the NHIS. The “Birth Rates” category includes information on the number of births, including by sex, distribution by age and region of the mothers, as well as mode of delivery, gestational week, newborn weight, number of births following IVF procedures, and more.

The “Mortality” category provides an analysis of mortality by place of occurrence - in a hospital or outside a hospital setting, mortality within 30 days after discharge, distribution by regions and by reason for hospitalization, as well as the most common causes of death in hospital settings.

Information Services further clarified that the category “Data from Professional Organization Registers” has been expanded with a new subcategory containing demographic data on medical professionals. It includes information on doctors by age groups, including by speciality, distribution by sex, as well as other age-related characteristics of medical professionals by region.
