ATA Alliance leader Sinan Ogan announced on Monday that he will support Turkiye's incumbent Head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the second round of the presidential elections on May 28. Ogan, quoted by state-run TRT television, urged his supporters to vote for Erdogan.

Ogan, who was a presidential candidate in the first round of elections, dropped out of the race after gaining 5.17% of the vote on May 14.

On Sunday night, however, another ATA Alliance official, Vecdet Oz, urged his supporters to vote for the presidential candidate of the Republican People's Party, Kemal Kilicdaroglu.

The incumbent President of Turkiye Erdogan got 49.24% of the votes, while Kilicdaroglu got 45.07%, the Supreme Election Council of Turkiye said. A candidate would have won the presidential race in the first round, had they received at least 50% of the votes plus one additional vote.
