The President of the Supreme Election Council of Turkiye, Ahmet Yener, quoted by the Turkish NTV, announced on Monday that after 100% of the votes were counted, none of the candidates for the Turkish presidency won more than 50% of the votes in Turkey's May 14 elections, which is why the country will hold a second round of voting on May 28.

The current President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan got 49.51% of the votes, while the opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu got 44.88%. Sinan Ogan got 5.17% of the votes, Muharrem Ince, who announced that he was dropping out from the presidential race, got 0.44% of the votes.

Voter turnout on Sunday was 88.92%, Yener said.
