Five people died and more than 470 were injured in Syria after two earthquakes hit the region late Monday, TASS reported quoting local TV channels. According to Al Arabiya, four people were killed in the mayhem that followed the tremors in the cities of Aleppo and Tartus. Sky News Arabia reports that another woman was killed in the port city of Latakia.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reports that over 150 people were injured in areas in northwestern Syria and at least 320 were injured in regime-held areas including 100 people in Aleppo and 120 in Latakia.
