One person was killed and six others were injured in an overnight drone attack in Ukraine’s Odesa region, with three of the injured in serious condition, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, said on his Telegram channel.
"The targets of the Russian attack were port, residential, industrial and energy infrastructure facilities in the Odesa region. Warehouses storing fertilizers were damaged at a regional port. As a result of the fires that broke out, four vehicles and freight railcars caught fire," Kiper said.
He added that debris from downed drones fell on the premises of a car dealership and a sanatorium in Odesa. Two drones also struck apartments in two residential buildings.
The fires caused by the attack were promptly extinguished by emergency responders.
Emergency and municipal services are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack.
Bulgarians in the Odesa region number more than 150,000 and were the third largest population group in Ukraine in 2001, according to the official census. About 50,000-60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
