Electricity Prices for Bulgarian Businesses to Fall by 20% on Friday

Electricity was traded at an average price of EUR 225.15 (excluding VAT) per megawatt hour (MWh) on the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) in the Day Ahead segment on Thursday, according to data after the close of trading. The transactions are based on Friday as a delivery date.

The energy exchange closed at an average price of EUR 282.33 per MWh on Wednesday, which means that electricity for Bulgarian businesses on Friday will be 20.25% cheaper than Thursday's price.

The average price of peak energy (from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.) for Friday will be EUR 272.13 per MWh compared to a price of EUR 178.17 per MWh in off-peak hours.

IBEX data shows that a total of 97,770.03 MWh of electricity have been sold.
