site.btaEurostat: December 2025 Annual Inflation Falls in Bulgaria, Euro Area and EU
The annual inflation rate in Bulgaria, measured by the harmonized index of consumer prices, was 3.5% in December 2025 compared with 3.7% in November 2025, the statistical office of the European Union reported on Monday. The December 2025 level in Bulgaria was the sixth highest in the EU. Back in December 2024, annual inflation in the country was 2.1%.
Monthly inflation in Bulgaria in December 2025 stood at 0.1%, Eurostat said.
Across the EU, annual inflation was 2.3% in December 2025, down from 2.4% in November 2025. Back in December 2024, it was 2.7%. In the euro area, annual inflation was 1.9% in December 2025, down from 2.1% in November 2025. A year earlier, the rate was 2.4%.
The lowest annual rates in the EU in December 2025 were registered in Cyprus (0.1%), France (0.7%) and Italy (1.2%). The highest annual rates were recorded in Romania (8.6%), Slovakia (4.1%) and Estonia (4.0%). Compared with November 2025, annual inflation fell in eighteen member states, remained stable in three and rose in six, Eurostat said.
