The spectators at the Parallel Giant Slalom of the Snowboard World Cup in Bansko will be watching an all-Bulgarian semifinal between Radoslav Yankov and Tervel Zamfirov.

The two stars of Bulgarian snowboarding reached the top four, where they will face each other after a series of impressive victories in the round of 16 and the quarterfinals.

In the first round of the direct elimination heats, Yankov defeated the Italian Aaron March, the leader of the overall World Cup standings. Zamfirov, meanwhile, eliminated the three-time world champion and last year’s winner in Bansko, Andreas Prommegger.

Both Yankov and Zamfirov raced on the blue course of the slope, which, given the sunny weather above Banderitsa, appears to be the faster one.

In the quarterfinals, Yankov knocked out Saturday’s winner and Olympic champion Benjamin Karl of Austria, while Zamfirov faced and defeated the Italian Maurizio Bormolini.

Quarterfinals:

FABIAN OBMANN (AUSTRIA) – Alexander Payer (Austria)
YANNIK ANGEND (GERMANY) – Gian Casanova (Switzerland)
RADOSLAV YANKOV (BULGARIA) – Benjamin Karl (Austria)
Maurizio Bormolini (Italy) – TERVEL ZAMFIROV (BULGARIA)

The capitalized names proceed to next round.
