Kyle Eastwood, son of Clint Eastwood, will perform in Sofia on May 8 with the Eastwood by Eastwood project, the organizers from the SoFest festival said Monday. They added that this will be Kyle Eastwood’s first visit to Eastern Europe and the Balkans.

The festival team noted that the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy music from films by the Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood, presented live by his son, a world-renowned musician, composer and leading figure in contemporary jazz.

Kyle Eastwood and his quintet, featuring prominent British musicians, will present music that is both melodic and rich in swing, simple in form yet refined in expression. Eastwood by Eastwood represents a musical expression of the close connection between two art forms and between two artists who, in addition to their family bond, share the same passion for cinema and music, the organizers explained.

Kyle Eastwood has emphasized his strong interest in film music and soundtracks. He is the author of more than twelve albums and has composed music for nine of his father’s films, including Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, Letters from Iwo Jima and Gran Torino.

Eastwood by Eastwood is conceived as a tribute from son to father, featuring film scores composed, arranged and performed by Kyle Eastwood and his quintet.
