European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde has published a Facebook post on Tuesday dedicated to Bulgaria’s upcoming accession to the eurozone. In the post, shared two days before the country adopts the euro, Lagarde says that as the end of 2025 approaches, she is reflecting on key moments from the year.

She emphasizes that at midnight on December 31 into January 1, Bulgaria will become the 21st member of the eurozone, describing this as a milestone moment. On the eve of the event, Lagarde also recalls her visit to Sofia in November, which she describes as stunning.
