Both versions of Veliko Tarnovo's trademark Sound and Light show will be screened on the same day on November 15 on Tsarevets Hill, the Veliko Tarnovo Municipality said here on Wednesday.

This will happen for the first time in the 40-year history of the show, as in addition to the famous modern 16-minute version, the original first version, which was only shown a few times in 1985, will also be broadcast. All residents and guests of Veliko Tarnovo will be able to watch both versions from Tsar Asen I Square in front of the medieval fortress.

The Municipality emphasized that the date of November 15 was not chosen by chance, as on this day 40 years ago, the fortress walls of Tsarevets shone with lights, spotlights, lasers and moving music for the first time, aiming to tell the story of the rise and fall of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. The modern version of the audio-visual spectacle has so far been watched by over 7 million viewers from 5 continents.

In September, the Sound and Light show was presented for the first time with live music. The event was part of the initiatives marking the 140th anniversary of the Unification of Bulgaria.
