Vice President Iliana Iotova said in an address to the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad (EABA) that Bulgarian women continue to promote the strength of the nation's spirit, language, folklore and wisdom worldwide. The message was read by Milena Dimitrova on the occasion of the Bulgarian Woman of the Year – St Zlata of Meglen 2024 Award ceremony, held at the University of National and World Economy in Sofia on Wednesday.

EABA is the organizer of the event.

Iotova noted that selecting one winner among the many preserving Bulgarian traditions abroad was a difficult task.

"Today, the icon of Saint Zlata of Meglen and a beautiful statuette will once again be received by a pair of caring hands. Another compatriot joins the ranks of the worthy Bulgarian Women of the Year recognized by EABA," the message said.

The Vice President extended her congratulations to EABA Executive Director Raina Mandzhukova for the award's prestige and success, and sent her best wishes to each winner, urging them to stay healthy, inspired, proud and committed to promoting Bulgaria's heritage abroad. "Keep persevering through challenges, and may we always remain united despite the distances," said Iotova.
