Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev will participate on Monday in Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels, the Foreign Ministry said.
The agenda includes discussions on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East and Libya, as well as China and broader issues of European security.
Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares told reporters today that he will urge the EU Council to immediately suspend EU’s association agreement with Israel. The move, he said, is in protest of what he described as human rights violations in Gaza, Reuters reported. Albares also stated that he will call for an arms embargo against Israel and sanctions on individuals undermining a two-state solution.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council convened on Sunday to discuss US airstrikes on Iran. Russia, China, and Pakistan proposed a resolution calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the Middle East to be adopted by the 15-member body.
