site.btaPresident Rumen Radev to Meet with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent

President Rumen Radev will meet with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Tuesday at the Kuksaroy residence in Tashkent. The Bulgarian President is on an official visit to Uzbekistan.

First, Rumen Radev and the country's Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov will pay tribute to the Independence Monument in the New Uzbekistan Park, after which a solemn ceremony will be held to welcome the Bulgarian head of state at the Kuksaroy residence by President Mirziyoyev. Radev and Mirziyoyev will hold a one-on-one meeting and lead the plenary talks between the two official delegations.

The two presidents will sign a joint statement on strengthening bilateral political dialogue and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, connectivity, culture and educational exchange. During the visit, a cooperation programme for the period 2026-2027 between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries and a memorandum of understanding between the Municipality of Sofia and the Municipality of Tashkent will be signed.

The Bulgarian head of State will participate in a high-level panel of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will be opened by the President of Uzbekistan. The event, which has been held since 2022, brings together investors from all over the world with the aim of promoting cooperation. During the visit, President Radev will also welcome participants in the Bulgarian-Uzbek Business Forum. In Tashkent, Rumen Radev will meet with Tanzila Norbaeva, Chair of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the supreme state representative body that exercises legislative power.
