Two women were injured in the latest mass overnight drone attack on Odesa, Serhiy Lysak, head of the City Military Administration, said on Telegram. He reported that personnel from the State Emergency Service rescued four people, with medical assistance provided to two women.
Damage has been reported to civilian and industrial infrastructure in two districts of the city. As a result of shelling, a two-storey residential building was damaged: the roof was destroyed, floors in apartments were damaged, the blast wave blew out windows in neighbouring buildings and damaged passenger cars, Lysak said.
Buildings housing a school and a kindergarten were also damaged, as well as an administrative building at an industrial facility, where a fire broke out.
Municipal services are dealing with the aftermath of the attack. An operational task force has been set up at the strike sites, where residents of damaged apartment buildings can receive psychological support and warm up, said Lysak.
Bulgarians in Odesa Region number more than 150,000 and were the third largest population group in Ukraine in 2001, according to the official census. About 50,000 - 60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
