site.btaGERB-UDF Floor Leader Welcomes US President's Efforts "to Establish Fair, Lasting Peace in Ukraine"

GERB–UDF Floor Leader Boyko Borissov welcomed the efforts of the US and US President Donald Trump to establish a “fair, lasting and sustainable peace in Ukraine,” he wrote on Facebook on Saturday.

“The plan presented by the United States, containing 28 points, includes important elements of fundamental significance for achieving a sustainable and just peace. The plan is a good basis on which to work in close coordination, as the security of Bulgaria, of the European Union and of all of Europe depends on the final conditions and subsequent arrangements of the peace in Ukraine,” Borissov added.

“We remain committed to working constructively within the EU and NATO with our US partners to ensure, together with Ukraine, that the future peace agreement will be sustainable,” he noted.

Borissov also said that since the beginning of the war, Bulgaria has “consistently and unwaveringly supported Ukraine.”
