Bulgarian chess player Beloslava Krasteva and Momchil Petkov scored new wins at the U20 World Chess Championship in Mexico City on Thursday.

Krasteva won her seventh-round game against Armenian Miriam Mkrtchyan with the whites. She remains without a loss in the tournament so far. Krasteva is second in the standings with five wins and two draws, 0.5 point from the leader Carissa Yip (USA) – the two will meet in the eighth round.

Petkov is also unbeaten after his first seven games. He is 17th in the standings with three wins and four draws, 1 point behind the leader Marc’Andria Maurizzi.

The World Championship lasts until October 1. The winners will be decided after 11 rounds played according to the Swiss system.
