Bulgarian racing driver Nikola Tsolov finished seventh in the Qatar Grand Prix in his debut Formula 2 weekend. Tsolov, who competes for Campos Racing, wrapped up the penultimate round of the championship with an excellent performance, having come within a lap of securing a podium on Saturday.
Tsolov qualified seventh and placed fourth on the reverse grid for the race. He quickly moved up to third and held the podium spot until the final lap, when contact from a rival pushed him down to tenth.
On Sunday, Tsolov finished seventh, 15.9 seconds behind race winner Victor Martins of France, who competes for ART Grand Prix.
The Bulgarian earned six points from his first race in Formula 2, where he will be competing throughout 2026. Last year, he raced in Formula 3, also with Campos Racing.
Italy's Leonardo Fornaroli, who races for Invicta Racing, finished second in Sunday’s race and secured the championship title in his debut F2 season. He won the Formula 3 championship in 2024.
