Bulgarians Stefan Donchev and Lilyana Baylova from the Yambol sports dance club Tandem won a gold medal in the Senior I and Senior II Latin dance categories at the World Championship, held in San Marino under the auspices of the international confederation CSIT.

“This is the third championship title for the Yambol dancers in this age category. Last year, the two won gold in the Senior category at an international Latin dance tournament, and later at the World Championship in the Over 45 Latin category – a historic success for Bulgaria,” the club said.

In March 2025, a gala evening in Yambol brought together the elite of Bulgarian sports dancing. More than 50 competitors and coaches from across the country took part, all of them winners of world and European titles in 2024. At the event, the President of the Bulgarian DanceSport Clubs Federation, Georgi Naydenov, told BTA that Bulgaria is currently among the best in Europe in sports dances.
