site.btaEuro to Give State Bulgaria Predictability in Pricing, Trade, Investment - E-Governance Minister

The euro will give Bulgaria predictability in prices, trade, and investment. It will eliminate risks and strengthen confidence in this country as a secure and modern economic environment, Minister of Electronic Governance Valentin Mundrov said here on Tuesday. He was speaking at an information meeting within the National Information Campaign for the Introduction of the Euro in Bulgaria.
The adoption of the euro is a strong impetus for the digitalisation of the country. The single European currency will facilitate Bulgaria's integration into a digital market, provide new opportunities for innovation and create a predictable business environment, Mundrov argued.
According to him, the transparency of financial transactions, electronic banking, digital payments, and cybersecurity are inextricably linked to the adoption of the euro.
"For us in the field of e-government, the adoption of the euro is a great opportunity that will accelerate the development of electronic services and lead to less administrative burden and more efficient electronic services accessible to all citizens," Mundrov added.
The euro is not an end goal - it is a means to economic sustainability, technological development, and establishing Bulgaria as a full and active member of the European Union, he underscored.
From October 1, the Ministry of Electronic Governance will begin checks on the readiness of systems in state and local administration to ensure that the transition to the new currency is smooth and secure, the Minister explained.
