site.btaBulgaria Sees Highest Annual Growth in Industrial Producer Prices in EU for Sixth Consecutive Month


Bulgaria registered the strongest annual increase in industrial producer prices (PPI) across the European Union in July 2025, marking the sixth consecutive month the country has led the bloc. It also remained the only EU member state to post a double-digit rise, with prices up by 10.7% year-on-year. Denmark (4.5%) and Romania (2.5%) followed in second and third place, while the sharpest declines observed in Estonia (-6.1%), Luxembourg (-4.5%), and Portugal (-3.6%), the Statistical Office of the European Commission (Eurostat) reported on Wednesday.
On a monthly basis, Bulgaria also ranked among the leaders in price growth, taking second place with a 5.7% increase compared to June. Only Romania reported a stronger month-on-month rise, at 6.7%. The steepest declines were seen in Estonia (-1.0%), Latvia (-0.7%), and Luxembourg (-0.4%).
Across the euro area, producer prices rose by 0.4% in July 2025 compared to June, while in the EU as a whole they increased by 0.6%, according to Eurostat estimates. The month prior, industrial producer prices had risen by 0.8% in the euro area and by 0.7% in the EU.
