The price of the consumer basket has gone up by BGN 1 in the past week, from BGN 97 to BGN 98, said Vladimir Ivanov, Chair of the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Wholesale Markets, at a news briefing on Monday.
He explained that the increase is due to seasonal and climatic factors, noting that the market remains calm, with typical market interactions and no external influences.
Ivanov added that the variations are quite small, presenting changes in wholesale product prices from May 20 to the present date. He pointed out that food price fluctuations are normal for the month of August.
