In the second quarter of 2025, the highest share of newly built apartments were two-room units (42.8%), followed by three-room apartments (30.8%), while the smallest share was for apartments with six or more rooms – 3.1%, according to preliminary data from the National Statistical Institute.
A reference to the NSI data shows that during the same period of the previous year, the ranking of newly built apartments by number of rooms was similar, but with different shares – two-room apartments made up 39.4%, three-room 33.8%, and six or more rooms 2.8%.
The number of residential buildings commissioned in the second quarter of 2025 was 1,256, with 6,001 newly built apartments in them. During the same period of last year, the figures were 1,039 buildings and 5,090 apartments, respectively.
In the second quarter of 2025, the most residential buildings were commissioned in the regions of Sofia (capital) – 203 buildings with 2,811 apartments, Plovdiv – 153 buildings with 300 apartments, and Burgas – 125 buildings with 651 apartments. In the same quarter of 2024, the leader was the Plovdiv region with 163 buildings and 607 apartments, followed by Burgas with 134 buildings and 1,027 apartments, and Varna with 127 buildings and 711 apartments.
