Glass Factory in Pleven Finalizes Large-Scale Investment

An innovative bath furnace of the latest generation was lit at an official ceremony on Wednesday in Pleven to mark a large-scale investment of the Rubin Glass Factory, the press centre of the Innovation and Growth Ministry said on Wednesday.

"Northern Bulgaria shows a capacity for business development and modernization and is receiving support from the state. The opening of new high-tech facilities in Pleven is of particular importance for the entire region," Innovation and Growth Deputy Minister Krasimir Yakimov said during the ceremony. The project, which will open 150 new jobs, was certified by the Мinistry as a priority under the Investment Promotion Act. 

Yakimov congratulated the investors for the fact that, along with the expansion of production, they aim to reduce harmful emissions by complying with the highest environmental standards. “All investments that the company has made so far establish it as a key factor in the economic development of the region,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.

The Innovation and Growth Ministry has supported over 150 companies in Pleven Region with over BGN 27 million under the Recovery and Resiliance Plan and the European Competitiveness Programme, Yakimov pointed out. In conclusion, he congratulated the management and employees on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the plant.

The event was also attended by Pleven Mayor Valentin Hristov, Bulgarian Investment Agency Executive Director Mila Nenova, representatives of the Ministry and leading German partners of the company from the glass industry.
