Banks will soon be able to request automated electronic reports to speed up loan approvals, Electronic Governance Minister Valentin Mundrov said on Friday.
Representatives of the Association of Banks in Bulgaria and the minister discussed the measure as part of efforts to integrate financial services with State digital systems.
Information will flow between banks and the National Revenue Agency through Regix, the inter-register data-exchange platform, reducing paperwork for citizens and businesses.
Instead of customers bringing paper certificates to branches, the required data will travel over secure electronic channels that meet all data-protection and information-security standards.
"This will eliminate the need for extra documents and make applications for banking services easier and more transparent," Mundrov said.
From January 1, 2026, salaries will be declared in euro in electronic employment records, a step designed to smooth Bulgaria’s transition to the eurozone.
"The Ministry of Electronic Governance remains committed to active dialogue so we can find workable solutions in the interests of citizens and businesses," Mundrov added.
